Administrators can create users with different access levels to IP Multiviewer.
Administrators can also decide which system elements can be accessed without authorization – that includes Preview (1fps preview), Watch (Net Streams to web browser), Alarms History and Active Alarms (Monitor) pages. Access to configuration is always password protected.

Users and access manager option is available from the top right menu, next to IP Multiviewer status:

Users management

To add new user:

  • Click New user to add user account.
  • Provide login, name and password
  • Check if the user has to change password on first login
  • Select roles for the user:
    • admin – system administrator user
    • analyze – access to History module (IPMV Enterprise only)
    • monitor – access to Monitor module (IPMV Enterprise only)
    • preview – access to screens preview (1fps)
    • watch – access to video streams/Net Streams via web (full framerate)
  • Optional: set expiration date for user account

Quick add or remove roles:

  • select user(s) on user list
  • select roles to add or remove
  • click Add roles to user or Remove roles from user

To edit user or see its activity:

  • select user(s) on user list
  • Click Edit user
  • Proceed as with adding user
  • Roll down “Account status” and select option to lock or deactivate account
  • Last login date / Creation date: displays the activity on user account

To delete user(s):

  • select user(s) on user list
  • Click Delete user

Web access

Administrators can decide which system elements can be accessed without authorization:

  • Preview (1fps preview)
  • Watch (Net Streams to web browser),
  • Alarms History
  • Active Alarms (Monitor)

To make access to any of those modules open (access without login and granted access rights for the user) switch Public Access to Y by clicking Change button. To disable it click Change again to switch Public Access to N
