Software update procedure

  • Backup complete C:\SMIPMultiviewer folder (you can exclude C:\SMIPMultiviewer\bin\logs subfolder)
  • Shut down Multiviewer – Renderer (from the web interface or with Alt+F4 from the console)
  • Shut down Multiviewer – Configuration (right-click on the tray icon, select “Shut down MV”)
  • Run the installer provided by Stirlitz Media – it will overwrite the previous version leaving the configuration and data untouched
  • Start again Configuration and Renderer

If there is a serious problem with a new version:

  • Shut down Renderer and Configuration
  • make zip file containing
    • all logs for the last 7 days from c:\SMIPMultiviewer\bin\log
    • c:\SMIPMultiviewer\*.ini
    • c:\SMIPMultiviewer\license.txt
  • Restore C:\SMIPMultiviewer from backup
  • Start again Configuration and Renderer
  • Report problem to Stirlitz Media support: support@stirlitzmedia.com
    • include client name
    • include detailed problem description + screens/photos if available
    • include zip file created earlier – containing logs and configuration files
